English Board
Hello KBD Mania!
I have rediscovered the mechanical keyboards a year ago and I am now working on increasing my collection.
My father used to have an IBM model M until 1996 which was my favorite thing to play with, but sadly he has thrown it away when I was 11 years old.
Luckily, with the help of Reddit/r/mechanicalkeyboards, I discovered Geekhack, Deskthority and now, KBD Mania.
I need you help, if you do not mind, especially the help of anyone living in Seoul!
Sadly, here in Europe, especially in Romania (where I live) the mechanical keyboards options are very limited but, I have a friend that is leaving on a trip in Korea on the 20'th of March and I have asked him to buy me a Leopold FC750R keyboard and a Leopold FC210TP numpad.
The main issue is that he is going with an organized group and they will be staying only one day and a night in Seoul and they have a tight schedule. They will be checking at a hotel next to the Dankook University campus.
They will be staying half a day at the University and the other half a the Romanian Embassy in Seoul. I have given him the map and address to Leaderskey, but he doesn't know if he will have much time to get to the store.
Now, my question:
Are there any places close to the Dankook University where my friend can buy a Leopold FC750R keyboard and Leopold FC210TP numpad?
Thank you very much!

Hi, welcome to KBDmania,
I would like to help your friend to get new keyboard. But as you say, your friend will stay very far from Leaderskey.
Your friend will need good 2~3 hours to go there from hotel, get keyboard, back to hotel with 3 times change metro,
it will be disaster. Because Korea metro is sooooo wide and soooo many lines, very complicate.
But, if your friend can afford an hour when he visit embassy, it will be good option.
Because from your embassy in seoul, just get taxi and he can get LeaderKey within 15min, defends traffic situation.
Taxi fare will be less than 10,000 Won which in Euro is 7~8 Euros.
Just explain to taxi driver that he want to go Sinyongsan station, Metro line 4, skyblue line.
LeadersKey is inside of that station, so it is very easy to find.
So, tell your friend, go there when he is in embassy. or, you can tell him just send me un e-mail.
I will help you as much as I can, because I'm in seoul.
My email address is: stephenwopark@aol.co.uk
When your friend or you give me an e-mail, I will let you know my phone number.
If i can actually go there to help your friend, will be nice, however I'm not sure of my schedule on that
Friday, but at least your friend can call me when he get on the Taxi, I can explain to driver where to go.
But I'm not sure wheather Romania's mobile phone can work on here in Korea...
Good luck!
Hello Stephen,
Thank you very much for your offer to help. I'll tell my friend to send you an e-mail if he has problems and if no other more simple solutions can be found.
First I would like to the idea that WARC온리유 gave us, to try and contact the travel agency.
Thank you!
Hi Derze, welcome!
First of all, it seems that the product you linked is a Korean version which may not look good for you. But the layout itself seems to be identical to the English one so if you don't mind the keycaps or do have ways to replace them with something more suitable for you, that'll be fine anyway.
To buy the product, there's an option. You said that your friend would be in a group, which means that he's using a travel agency which probably have a branch in South Korea. How about ask the agent in Romania to help? They might be able to contact Korean branch and do the favour for you (him). I don't know it's reasonable or not, but it's still worthy to try.
If you still want to know where to buy in person, (and probably you do,) here's the map of the offline store of Leopold in Seoul.

Unfortunately I don't have enough time right now to translate this map to English, but at least the travel agent he will meet in South Korea should be able to help him visit the store. The subway station shown on the map is "Sinyongsan Station". It is not that close to Dankook Univ, but still affordable I believe as it's in Seoul and he'll visit the Romanian Embassy in Seoul. But.. I still believe that it'll be better to ask somebody in Seoul in advance not to sacrifice your friend's travel too much. I'd like to help but unfortunately I don't live in Korea.
I hope this will help you guys. Say him "have a nice trip!"
Regards,
Scott
